Engine Mount Inspection and Replacement Guide

Engine mounts secure the engine to the vehicle's subframe and reduce vibration. Common symptoms of a failing mount include excessive idle vibration, clunking noises during acceleration or deceleration, and visible cracks or tears in the rubber bushing. When replacing mounts, always use OEM or quality aftermarket parts, support the engine safely with a jack and block of wood, and tighten fasteners to manufacturer torque specifications. On many Honda models, worn front and rear mounts cause idle vibration and can set idle-related DTCs such as P0505 or P0507 if the movement affects the throttle cable or intake system. Inspect all mounts, including the torque strut, before replacing sensors or performing idle relearn procedures.
