For 2014-2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 models equipped with the 5.3L or 6.2L Ecotec3 V8 engine, traditional spark plug wire sets are not used. These engines use a coil-on-plug ignition system, where each ignition coil sits directly over each spark plug. Instead of replacing a spark plug wire set, maintenance involves inspecting and replacing the coil-on-plug rubber boots, ignition coils, and spark plugs as needed. If a misfire code such as P0351, P0352, or P2300 appears, check the corresponding ignition coil, boot, and spark plug before replacing parts. For 2026 ignition system components, high-quality silicone and EPDM materials are common for boots and connectors because they resist high temperatures and provide stable insulation. Always follow the manufacturer's specifications for spark plug gap, torque, and replacement intervals.
