A front strut clunking noise and bouncy ride in a Nissan Quest are usually caused by worn strut mounts, loose sway-bar links, failed strut bushings/bump stops, or a leaking/sagging strut cartridge. On models with adjustable suspension, chassis-level DTCs like C1210, C1214, C1218, C1222 or similar C-codes (depending on model year) can indicate suspension actuator/height sensor faults. Inspect the strut assembly for fluid leakage, check mounting bolts for torque, and bounce the front end to locate play. If the strut is weak, replace struts in pairs. Use OEM or quality aftermarket complete strut assemblies for 2004-2009 Nissan Quest (Part No. 56200-9Y000 / 56201-9Y000 or equivalent). After replacement, a wheel alignment is required. If DTCs persist, diagnose sensor circuits before condemning the strut.
