The Mercedes W205 (C-Class) often suffers from peeling or sticky window switch buttons due to degraded rubber coating. To repair, you have two main options: replace the entire switch module or replace the individual button caps. Replacing individual caps (available from Koeep.com or similar) is cheaper and easier. First, remove the switch panel (pry gently with trim tools). Then, pop off the old buttons (they snap on) and replace with new ones. For sticky buttons, clean the residue with isopropyl alcohol. If you encounter DTC P1800 or B1000, those indicate a LIN bus communication error with the window control module, often fixed by reseating connectors or replacing the switch module. Always disconnect the battery before electrical work.
