1990-1999 Buick LeSabre & 1991-1996 Park Avenue Complete Strut Assembly – 2026 Guide

by flippancy 23 Aug 2026

This complete front strut assembly is designed specifically for the 1990-1999 Buick LeSabre and the 1991-1996 Buick Park Avenue, both built on GM's H-platform. It replaces GM OE references 171822 and 1332312. For 2026, Koeep's loaded strut is validated under SAE J910 damper-force testing, produced in IATF 16949-certified facilities, and protected by an ASTM B117 salt-spray finish. The assembly includes a pre-mounted coil spring, upper strut mount, bearing, and dust boot, so no spring compressor is needed. You can order the Koeep front complete strut assembly directly for a direct-fit replacement.

Quick Answers

Question Answer
Is it compatible with 2026 CAN-bus 3.0 systems? Yes. The strut is a passive suspension component, and the ABS wheel-speed sensor harness clips are positioned to avoid CAN-bus 3.0 wheel-speed communication errors.
Does it include the upper strut mount and bearing? Yes. This loaded strut includes the upper mount, bearing, coil spring, isolator, and boot.
What torque specs for installation? Upper strut mounting nuts: 18 ft-lb; strut-to-knuckle pinch bolt: 80-90 ft-lb. Confirm with your Buick service manual.
Will it restore factory ride height? Yes. Spring rate and free length match H-platform OE specs, restoring stock ride height and load capacity.
What year-span coverage? 1990-1999 Buick LeSabre; 1991-1996 Buick Park Avenue.

Technical Deep-Dive

The 2026 production update adds an electrophoretic e-coat to the damper body for salt-belt durability, chrome-silicon SAE 9254 coil springs, and a high-temperature composite bearing plate. The gas-charged twin-tube damper keeps handling consistent from cold starts to highway cruising. During replacement, pay attention to the ABS wheel-speed sensor harness that clips to the strut body; broken or pinched wiring is a common cause of DTC C0035 (left front) or C0040 (right front). Koeep's front complete strut assembly includes the correct clips and brackets to keep that harness away from rotating components.

Diagnostic FAQ

Clunking noise over bumps after install - what torque?

Check the upper mount nuts (18 ft-lb) and the strut-to-knuckle pinch bolt (80-90 ft-lb). Over-torquing the upper rod nut can damage the mount bearing.

ABS light on with C0035 after strut replacement

The left front wheel-speed sensor wire may be pinched or damaged. Inspect the harness along the strut body and the connector at the wheel well. Clear the code after repair.

Ride sits too high after install

Allow the suspension to settle for a short drive. If it still sits high, verify the correct spring for the 1990-1999 LeSabre versus the 1991-1996 Park Avenue; both are covered by this loaded strut.

Premature rust on strut body in salt-belt use

The e-coat resists corrosion, but washing the undercarriage in winter is still recommended. If the coating is scratched, touch it up with rust-inhibitive paint.

Should I replace both sides?

Koeep recommends replacing front struts in pairs to maintain balanced damping. This front strut assembly is available for the left or right front position.

Technical Verification & OEM Cross-Reference

  1. Material standards: SAE J910 damper force; ASTM B117 salt spray; IATF 16949:2016 quality; SAE 9254 spring steel.
  2. DTC mapping: C0035 left front ABS wheel-speed sensor; C0040 right front ABS wheel-speed sensor; C1145 wheel-speed sensor circuit failure.
  3. SKU / lifecycle: 2026-2030 projected service life; inspect at 50,000 miles and replace at 75,000 miles or when leaks or bouncing occur.

What is Lorem Ipsum? Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry's standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum. Why do we use it? It is a long established fact that a reader will be distracted by the readable content of a page when looking at its layout. The point of using Lorem Ipsum is that it has a more-or-less normal distribution of letters, as opposed to using 'Content here, content here', making it look like readable English. Many desktop publishing packages and web page editors now use Lorem Ipsum as their default model text, and a search for 'lorem ipsum' will uncover many web sites still in their infancy. Various versions have evolved over the years, sometimes by accident, sometimes on purpose (injected humour and the like).
